I’m delighted to share that I’ve recently completed painting a new series of oil-on-canvas featuring some of the most admired buildings in Bogotá, Colombia. It is a project I’ve wanted to pursue for some time, and it has finally come to fruition with a solo exhibition titled “The City- Bogota Forever” taking place from November 9th, 2024 to January 15th, 2025 at the B.O.G. Hotel in Bogotá.
This is a dream come true and I am so grateful for this opportunity to showcase my paintings for the very first time in my home country of Colombia and depict artworks related to the architecture of the city of Bogotá!! I will have a total of 11 paintings on view at the B.O.G Hotel.
If you're in Bogotá this November, please come and visit the show!
I will be in attendance for the art opening on Saturday, November 9th, and will also be there to offer guided tours on other dates through November 15th.

THE CITY - BOGOTA FOREVER by PATRICIA ARAUJO
Bogotá is a metropolis, a dense city of concrete and brick, which ranges from skyscrapers and ancient palaces to streets lined with parks and mountain views. This city has several styles of architecture that reflect the union of colonial and modern. Each era is filled with symbols that tell stories of the past, through its buildings. A city full of energy that inspires me to paint urban views and facades of the historic center. In particular: the Planetarium, the Bullring, the Monasterio del Sol, the Avenida Jiménez, and the country's tallest building - the Bacatá.
My works capture the nostalgia of the past and its architectural beauty. In my urban landscapes, one feels the presence of a silent stage uninterrupted by inhabitants. These paintings highlight the exteriors of complete structures and represent architectural fragments. The joy of forms juxtaposed to pictorial skies. Each work is a tribute to each place of yesteryear, seen between reality and imagination, amplified by my significant bright colors. This is the first series of works, and I shall continue to paint other favorite places of Bogotá. It is an infinite rediscovery!
